NK Stahlwasserbau transports fully constructed sliding gate 1 (Akacia) to the waterways shipping administration
On Monday, 28.11.2022 at 08:00 o'clock, it was time to cast off. After 3 years and 4 months of construction, sliding gate 1 of the large Kiel Holtenau sea lock was handed over to its owner, the NOK Waterways and Shipping Authority, in new glory.
Following a prior public EU tender process, Nobiskrug GmbH successfully secured the contract for the basic repair of the damaged sliding gate in a competitive bidding process on 08.07.2019.
The damage of the gate was larger than initially assumed. A total of approx. 285 tons of steel had to be moved and, for the most part, replaced in order to restore the gate to its original design. Due to the bankruptcy of the Nobiskrug shipyard (former subsidiary of HDW Kiel) in April 2021, further disruptions occurred during the execution and repair of the construction. Only through the courageous action of the insolvency administrator Hendrik Gittermann, Reimer Rechtsanwälte Hamburg, he continued the customer order of the Waterways and Shipping Authority NOK unabated, the work on the sliding gate could be continued.
As of 01.01.2022, the HEINRICH RÖNNER GRUPPE from Bremerhaven acquired the assets of the steel construction department of the Nobiskrug shipyard from the insolvency estate of Nobiskrug GmbH, Rendsburg, and took over all employees. The continuation of the orders was carried out on behalf of the insolvency administrator by the newly founded company NK Stahlwasserbau GmbH & Co. KG based in Büdelsdorf. The current projects will be continued as planned. Existing contact persons in the steel construction department will continue to be available to handle customer orders in the future.
