Stahlbau Nord delivers first sections for new fuel tanker

Our team has already successfully manufactured and loaded the first 250-ton section for the construction of a new fuel tanker for the German Navy. This was followed shortly afterwards by an even bigger challenge: a 750-ton section was also shipped to the Neptun shipyard.

Two further sections are still under construction.

The sections will form part of a 173-meter-long fuel tanker that will replace the outdated naval vessels “Rhön” and “Spessart”. With modern technology, double-secured outer hulls and significantly reduced emissions, the ship can take around 12 million liters of fuel on board and refuel up to two frigates at sea with marine diesel.
