Stahlbau Nord replaces hatch cover and renews seawater filter for NSB ship
The ship Buxfavourite, managed by the NSB GROUP in Buxtehude, left the shipyard of Stahlbau Nord GmbH (sbn) after a short laytime with 19 new hatch covers and revised piping to the seawater filter.
The 2400-TEU freighter Buxfavourite arrived at the Labrador pier on 22.10.2023 and remained there until 30.10.2023. During this time, the sbn team worked closely with MacGregor to repair a total of 19 hatch covers in just six days, working day and night shifts.
Specially manufactured jigs were used to return the hatch covers to their original position. This made it possible to precisely align the covers on the holds. Our Kirow KSM 350 was used to transport the covers from the pier to the hall.
In addition, the pipe to the seawater filter and the seawater filter on the Buxfavourite's sea chest were replaced. This measure helps to ensure that the filter functions properly.
The successful repair of the hatch cover and the replacement of the seawater filter are important steps in ensuring the operational readiness of the Buxfavourite. The team worked with expertise and efficiency to complete this work promptly and reliably.
